Understanding the New Polymer Plants

The Aberration Polymer Plants all over Ragnarok are an excellent source for farming Polymer in ARK Survival Ascended.

You can use these plants to reap large amounts of Organic Polymer in a short amount of time compared to the conventional method. The plants are strategically placed with high returns and reasonable risks.

Finding the Hidden Wyvern Scar

Your first target for farming polymers is the Hidden Wyvern Scar, located at coordinates 63° and 40°.

This is your primary location to harvest Polymer Plants, but exercise caution about the risks of Wyvern areas. The portal to this profitable farm location is at coordinates 70° and 42° and is relatively easy to find once you are aware of it.

Hidden Wyvern Scar contains Polymer Plants that cover the floor as well as the cave system walls. The plants are spread thickly around the area and offer numerous opportunities for harvesting on each trip.

Suggested Harvesting Tools and Methods

You have a couple of good choices for harvesting Polymer Plants, and each will have its benefits.

If you need to, you can use bare hands, but you will do much better with special equipment. A Sickle is an excellent harvesting efficiency and an all-around good option.

But technically, the Dire Bear is superior to regular harvesting except for specialists. The natural collection skill of the bear is especially good at harvesting Organic Polymer from such plants.

Advanced Harvesting Technique with Iguanodon

The best technique involves using an Iguanodon with an exact method that significantly increases your yields.

You will need to right-click to have the Iguanodon jump attack and instantly left-click as it is in mid-air. This is what triggers a harvesting bonus that can help you gain massive amounts of Organic Polymer in seconds.

Timing is everything with this method. You left-click at the instant the jump attack initiates, or you'll miss your harvesting bonus. Properly used, this method produces over 1,200 Organic Polymers in mere seconds on official server settings.

Your Iguanodon level doesn't affect how effective this technique is. Even a level 60 Iguanodon with Power Slam capability will give you very high amounts of Organic Polymer through this technique. You can easily get almost 20,000 Organic Polymer in a matter of a few minutes of constant farming.

Navigation and Safety Considerations

The Hidden Wyvern Scar has a number of risks that require proper planning.

Wyverns regularly patrol here, so they are your main danger when you go out to harvest. These beasts can ruin your farming session instantly if you don't prepare for them, so it's advisable to bring proper weapons or tames for defense.

If you're playing on a server with no Iguanodons, you'll have to resort to other methods. A Dire Bear and a shotgun to kill the Wyvern is a good option.

Megalania is found on lower levels of the cave system, i.e., in the rear regions where Polymer Plant densities are the greatest. The beasts deal Mega Rabies, a debilitating illness that may drastically reduce your farming effectiveness.

Proceed with caution when fighting these beasts, and think about bringing cure equipment or a different path if you don't wish to fight.
