The Artifact of the Cunning is a vital collectible in ARK: Survival Ascended on the Ragnarok map, often required for boss fights and advanced progression. For new players, getting this artifact from the cave can be hard to find and even dangerous.

Locating the Cave Entrance

Start by looking for a hole in the wall that stands out near the water. The right place on the map is somewhere between 17° latitude and 43° longitude.

To find the entrance, look for a gap in the cliff wall and the ocean on the right.

Preparing for the Cave

It is crucial to enter the cave during the daytime. Inside, Megalosaurus are present, and these creatures become much more dangerous at night, capable of grabbing and killing you.

Ensure that it is daytime before proceeding into the cave.

Navigating the Cave

Follow the path straight ahead until you reach a spot with red mushrooms. Then, take the first left. After you get past the white crystals, go straight.

When you come to a wall of blue mushrooms, stay to the right until you see a large opening.

Next, you will see a wall of red mushrooms; again, keep to the right of this wall. The path can be confusing, but following these directions will guide you efficiently.

Keep going along the path, past different crystals. Take a left turn as soon as you get the chance. Now that the item is nearby, the last step can be tricky.

Reaching the Artifact

Eventually, a wall will block the way forward, and you will not be able to proceed on foot. At this point, dismount and prepare to use Grapples.

The exact coordinates here are about 20° latitude and 46° longitude. Use a Grapple to descend into the hole, release it, and then use another Grapple as needed to navigate further openings.

Keep an ear out for the sound of the Artifact of the Cunning as you move forward. If you keep going down the road, you will soon see the artifact lying in a large opening.
