Getting a Magmasaur Egg in ARK: Survival Ascended Genesis may seem dangerous, but you can complete the run without advanced Tek equipment or a powerful creature. With a Crossbow, several Grappling Hooks, and a few Parachutes, you can travel above most enemies, reach the Magmasaur nests, and escape through one of the cave’s many exits.

What You Need

Get a Crossbow ready with several Grappling Hooks loaded into it before going into the cave. Also, you should bring more than one parachutist because they will help you move around while you are hanging above the cave floor.

Bug Repellant and other extra gear can make the trip easier by keeping certain creatures from bothering you. However, this method doesn't need it.

Teleport to the Lava Biome, which is located in the upper-right section of the biome selection interface. Travel toward approximately 42.75 Latitude and 64.22 Longitude to find one of the easiest entrances to the Magmasaur cave.

Look for the large purple crystals near the entrance. Continue through this area until you reach the main cave system.

Travel Through the Cave Safely

Avoid fighting the creatures on the cave floor whenever possible. Fire a Grappling Hook into the ceiling, deploy your Parachute, and move through the cave while staying above most threats.

You can release the Grappling Hook and attach another one farther ahead to continue moving. Onyc is sometimes coming for you but they are slow enough for you to escape from repeated grapples.

The Magmasaurs below may attempt to attack from a distance. Staying near the ceiling and using the cave walls for cover will make their projectiles much easier to avoid.

Where to Find Magmasaur Eggs

The Magmasaur Eggs appear in small nesting pockets near the lava floor. Nests can spawn in the front chamber, the rear chamber, and the side areas of the cave.

Check several nests before taking an egg so you can choose the highest-level Magmasaur Egg available. Once you pick one up, nearby Magmasaurs will immediately become aggressive.

How to Escape With the Egg

After collecting the egg, immediately grapple toward a higher section of the cave. Move from side to side while climbing to make it harder for the Magmasaurs to hit you with their ranged attacks.

You are able to close the Parachute when you need to gain height more quickly, and deploy another before falling too far. Keep using Grappling Hooks until you get to a safer upper pathway.

If escaping becomes impossible, place your body and inventory somewhere accessible before dying. After respawning, the Magmasaurs should no longer remain aggressive toward you, allowing you to return for the egg.

Finding an Exit

The easiest way to leave the cave is to keep travelling uphill. The cave contains several exits, and most have a window-like opening leading toward the outside.

Take whichever uphill exit is closest instead of attempting to return through the exact entrance you originally used. Continue grappling or running upward until you leave the cave with the Magmasaur Egg safely stored in your inventory.

The cave run can also be done by strong dinosaurs like a Rex, Giganotosaurus, or Carcharodontosaurus, but the Grappling Hook and Parachute way is useful when you don't have strong tames or Tek gear.
