Assassin's Creed Shadows Guide | How To Recruit More Scouts

In Assassin's Creed: Shadows, scouts are crucial as a smaller number of scouts will make it more difficult to locate goals and resources. Therefore, it's better to increase the number of scouts since the game allows you to recruit up to nine scouts. You can recruit new scouts through quests and build up the Study at the hideout.

Here is a guide showing the steps to recruit all nine scouts in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

First Scout

As soon as you build your first Kakurega in your hideout—an essential aspect of the main quest—the first scout will join you.

Monta and Shinobi 

You will be able to recruit Monta and Shinobi after completing the 'Finding New Allies' side quest.  The location of this quest can be found in Izumi Setsu, more particularly in Lost Hills, beside the hideout. You'll see an exclamation mark once you get there. Complete the objectives to recruit them as a scout.

Osato, Niko, and Nana 

You can recruit Osato by building the Study in the hideout. Leveling the Study to two will allow you to recruit Niko, while leveling it to three will allow you to recruit Nana.

Shido

You need to complete the "Pirates Alliance" quest to recruit Shido. As part of this mission, you need to eliminate every single member of the Pirates Alliance in Wakasa. Tell the Biwa master Shido what you've done with the pirates, and he'll come along as a scout.

Munetoshi 

You will be able to recruit him after fighting in a duel with him as part of your quest for Nobusuna's Student. Because this quest is part of the primary task in Omi at Azuchi, it will start automatically.

Sen No Rikyu

You will need to gather all 7 Tea Bowls and give them to Sen No Rikyu in order to recruit him. Once you have all the bowls, take part in the tea ceremony. Remember, you need to invite your friends only, not enemies; only then will he join as a scout.

If you follow these steps, you can progress through the game and locate different quests easily.
