Upgrading hideout locations in Assassin's Creed Shadows will require you to have a steady supply of resources; you'll be able to gather these resources efficiently with the right approach, and this guide will show you how.
Prioritize Hideout Upgrades
You'll want to upgrade the Study to at least level two or three to increase the total number of available scouts.
You will also want to upgrade the Stables to level two so that the scout cost gets reduced for resource emissions from 2 to one this basically doubles resource gains each season.
To Find Resources
You can locate resources in enemy camps and castles they're usually marked with the crate icon. The smaller camps are faster to clear than large castles, making them pretty ideal for quick resource farming. Use the left trigger (L2) to scan the area for keys that will glow a bright gold, they're required to unlock doors containing resource chests.
Resource Collection Mechanics
You'll want to assign scouts to smuggle resources from cleared locations. Once the season ends, they will deliver materials to the hideout.
The scouts that don't get used will gather a small number of basic materials automatically, but this method isn't practical as it's less efficient than manual assignment.
Contracts for Targeted Resources
Contracts obtained from small hideouts scattered across the map will offer you specific rewards. These are valuable as you will be able to target scarce materials. If you complete the contracts regularly, it will pretty much give you a steady flow of resources, especially later in the game when there are more upgrade demands.
Tips When Farming
- Higher wealth camps tend to have better rewards.
- Revisit clear locations after each season resets.
By following some of these methods it'll be easier for you together with resources allowing you to upgrade your hideout much faster so that you can progress linearly.
