Avowed Guide | How To Save Fior mes Iverno & Get The Death Knight Armor

Obsidian Entertainment is well known within the realm of RPGs, and Avowed, an action role-playing title under the banner of Xbox Game Studios, is their most recent ambitious project.

This guide explains how you can complete a secret side quest in Avowed that saves Fior mes Iverno from burning down; it also provides steps on how you can obtain the legendary Death Knight Armor, a powerful, unique item. 

The quest involves you exploring a hidden cave, defeating enemies, and making certain choices during dialogues.

Locate the Waterfall Cave

The quest begins with your traveling to a hidden waterfall cave near Fior mes Iverno. This is important for saving the town from burning down. If you've completed the main quest, "Ancient Soil" however, it might be too late to save the town, but if the quest is still in progress, visiting the cave and clearing out the soldiers inside will prevent the town from destruction. 

Clear The Cave

When you enter the waterfall cave, you'll be met with small groups of soldiers, engaged in dialogue with them, and choose the option to attack. This will initiate a fight and defeat all the soldiers in the cave to progress the quest. The enemies are pretty high level, so make sure you are strongly armed; using legendary weapons like "One Last Trick" can make progress much easier. 

Explore The Cave for Loot 

Once you clear the cave and explore the area thoroughly, you'll see many pathways and areas that you can investigate. One of the rooms is locked by a door that can be opened with lockpicks or by taking an alternate route from above.

Inside, you'll find additional loot, including a chest with goodies. To find the legendary Death Knight Armor, you'll want to be extra careful when exploring the cave so that you don't miss anything; there's a hidden area that can be easily missed near the exit of a cave. 

If you look carefully, you can spot a small crevice filled with water, dive in the water, and explore the submersion area to find the legendary Death Knight Armor. 

This armor will give you a 10% chance to restore 15% of maximum health when taking damage and grants 30% resistance to frost accumulation. 

Complete The Main Quest 

Once you save Fior mes Iverno and obtain the legendary Death Knight Armor, you can now return to the main quest "Ancient Soil". Bring Giatta to the base of the Adra pillar to progress the story. If the cave were cleared beforehand, the town would not burn down completely, allowing you access to shops and additional quests within the area. 

By following the steps, Fior mes Iverno can be saved from destruction, and you can get your hands on the powerful legendary Death Knight Armor.
