Dave the Diver Guide | How to Upgrade Purification Filter

Upgrade Muna’s Purification Filter so you can dive deeper into Utara Lake.

In Dave the Diver: In the Jungle, the Purification Filter is the key to getting to Utara Lake. The water in the lake is very high in sulfur, so your filter controls how long and how deep you can search before it gets too dangerous. In Chapter 2, Muna tells you to improve the filter so you can keep looking into the old ruins and stone tablets.

Dave the Diver Guide How to Upgrade Purification Filter

Find Dinosaur Bone Fragments

For the first upgrade, you need 3x Dinosaur Bone Fragment and 70 Doni. Dinosaur Bone Fragments are usually found on the floor of Utara Lake. They look like pale bone pieces with a small glow around them, making them easier to spot when you swim close to the lake bed.

Search the early lake depth carefully before moving too far into dangerous water. Some bone materials may also appear around the shore, so checking the beach before diving can save time.

Upgrade the Filter at Muna’s Tent

Once you have 3x Dinosaur Bone Fragment and enough Doni, return to Muna in Utara Village. Hand over the materials to upgrade the basic filter into the Improved Purification Filter. This raises the filter capacity to 550 and lets you reach around 55m, which is deep enough to continue the stone tablet photo objective.

After this upgrade, keep collecting rarer dinosaur materials. A later Advanced Purification Filter upgrade requires Dinosaur Vertebra, Dinosaur Skull, and more Doni, allowing you to reach the deeper 75m area for the Broken Breathing Apparatus objective.
