"Cover the Escape" Quest in Doom the Dark Ages is centered around clearing the entire area with many enemies. You'll need good weapons that deal a lot of damage, and your shield to parry projectiles.

Clearing The Village

You'll begin by entering the area where you'll have a lot of enemies in Doom: The Dark Ages. It's highly suggested that you make use of your shield charge there.

As you move along, begin to stagger the enemies, particularly the ones with shields. These are pretty easily killed by staggering them and putting them away with an execution move. They're extremely easy to kill that way.

The other foes are also relatively easy to kill. Just be sure to prioritize your execution moves for the tougher ones, to quickly eliminate them. Continue to move around the village as you do. Any ammo that you can find lying on the ground, collect it.

You'll be surrounded by many enemies that will attack you from every direction, so keep a lookout for that and be on the constant move, and you don't want to be caught off guard.

As you proceed forward, you'll encounter a bunch of friendlies taking shelter in a building—don't shoot them. Go into the building ahead of you. Turn right when inside and proceed down. You'll reencounter some of your companions there in Doom: The Dark Ages.

Now, you need to climb the wall ahead of you. Jump out once you're at the top.

Weapon Drop

After you have climbed the wall, you get a weapon drop. A ship will approach you and drop the weapon. Once the drop comes, you must approach it and press the appropriate key to open it.

You get the Power Gauntlet—it's a melee weapon. It is easy to use. Simply equip it and begin using it as your default melee attack. It is valuable and convenient to use.

More enemies will spawn once you have the Power Gauntlet in Doom: The Dark Ages. You must do three-hit combos on them. Ensure you have all three charges on the gauntlet before doing the combos. Attack near your targets and use the combo. Then, more enemies will spawn, so be prepared.

You'll also get power gauntlet charges from an enemy's dead body. So, make sure to pick them after you kill them.

Final Village Fight

Proceed cautiously into the next area. You could be out of health by this time, so pick up any med packs you can find—those will be helpful. Continue onward, jump the following chasm, and blow open the door in front.

Within, there are more enemies. Eliminate them as before.

As soon as you drop, you'll be surrounded by enemies. Just like before, use the combination of melee and ranged weapons and your shield to clear this area. You must be extra careful while dealing with this section, as you'll sometimes be low on health.

Make sure to collect health packs from the ground, be in motion, and use your health packs wisely. Deflect the enemy projectiles to avoid getting hit, and use your melee whenever possible. And pick up the gauntlet charges from dead enemies to keep your gauntlet charged.

Once you have cleared the Area, you'll get a message that the mission is completed in Doom: The Dark Ages.
