Dragon Age: The Veilguard Guide | How to Power the Door in Entropy's Grasp

Entropy's Grasp is a quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, where Rook, Bellara, and Harding are plunged deep into the mysterious Arlathan Forest. Trying to make their way around this really ancient and perilous terrain, they meet obstacles at every turn.

There is a door that bars the way up the Broken Stairway. This door opens only if two devices on either side of it are powered, but securing the power sources won't be so easy; one of the items you need is well hidden. You'll have to find and use both power crystals to unlock the door if you want to progress.

This is the quest that takes you through the more intense puzzles of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Early on, you'll encounter a closed door that requires two power crystals to unlock.

While the first crystal is easy to place, the second one is slightly trickier to find. Here’s what you need to do to power the door.

Where To Find The Sealed Door and the Crystal

As you progress further in the quest, you'll come across a sealed door that keeps you from proceeding any further. If you look closely at the door, you can find a place for two power crystals.

You'll notice that the first crystal is sitting just beside it, which you merely pick up and put in. However, you need to search for the second crystal if you want the door to open fully. Fortunately, the missing crystal is not too far from the location, but to get to it, you need to solve a puzzle and take a bit of a detour.

Place The First Crystal

Start with the first crystal, which is by the door. Insert it into the nearby power slot to open the secondary door. This will reveal a path leading to an area that was previously inaccessible. Follow this path down corridors to a big room with a ballista.

Break The Seed of Corruption

In this room, there is a blocking seed of corruption in the way to operate the ballista. You shall have to destroy this seed before using it. Approach it and start breaking it down with any skills or attacks that work. Once you break the seed, the ballista is useable.

Tear Down the Wall Using the Ballista

Now that you have access to the ballista, you'll shoot through the wall that blocks your path. Aim carefully and fire the ballista to break down the wall.

Fight The Enemies on New Path

Once the wall is broken, head through the passage. A group of enemies is waiting inside to be killed.

You can still use the ballista to deal with some of the enemies here. First things first, fire the ballista to kill off as many enemies as possible before having to mop up the rest on your feet. Head through in the now clear path after defeating the enemies.

Get the Second Power Crystal

You will obtain the second power crystal after fighting your way through. You take the crystal and head back. Trace your steps back through the path you entered to the very first door you had to power. You most likely will have to fight even more enemies or other stuff you may have missed on the way in.

Put the Second Crystal in Place and Unlock the Door

Go back to the closed door and insert the second crystal into the slot beside the first one. This completely powers the door; it opens so you can proceed onward. The new areas of Entropy’s Grasp should be accessible now.
