Here's how you can access What If Scenarios in DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO

One of the greatest Dragon Ball experiences is finally out, and it’s a sequel to the Budokai Tenkaichi series, coming in after 15 whole years. DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO takes a page out of Xenoverse 2’s book and allows you to experience alternate paths or “What If” scenarios in the Episodic Story mode of the game.
This could mean seeing an ending where Goku does not die in the first encounter with Raditz.
While this feature certainly exists in this game, the game makes no effort in letting you know of how to access these alternative paths. If you’re confused about how to see these paths, you are in the right place.
To access the "What-If" scenarios in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, you’ll need to pay close attention to the objectives hidden within the story mode missions. Here's how you can unlock and play these alternate paths.
How to Unlock "What-If" Scenarios
The game doesn’t clearly explain how to activate these scenarios, and the mission menus won’t give you much insight. However, once you load into a mission and pause the game, head over to the Battle Details section. This is where the game lists the alternate objectives for the mission—these are the key to unlocking "What-If" paths.
The battle details will show you specific objectives that must be completed to access an alternate storyline. For instance, you might come across a mission where you need to reduce Majin's health quickly to unlock a "What-If" path. The challenge here is that the game doesn’t specify how quickly you need to accomplish this task—it simply says "quickly." This leaves it up to you to figure out the timing. The best strategy is to defeat the enemy as fast as possible and retry if necessary.
If you’re struggling, try to be patient and perhaps go through the tutorial in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to practice your combos. To complete some of these objectives, you need to be pretty good at the game.
If you can’t get an objective, you can go back to that part in Episode mode whenever you want and try again, This works even if you have gone well past that section already.
