In most story missions in the overworld, you will find Treasure Chests that are easy to find on the map. Chests inside dungeons are different, however, as they are randomly placed every time and they are not mandatory to complete the game.

Finding Checkpoints First

To collect all the chests in each mission, first locate all the mission checkpoints. This will free up the map and make it easier to see the chests you may have walked past.

Defeating Arc Bosses for Shortcuts

You may have to fight Arc Bosses on the map to unlock shortcuts to unlock certain chests. With this in mind, you should be able to avoid missing chests that are blocked off until a shortcut opens up while exploring each mission.
