This guide will show you how to gather Bronze in Hades 2, a key resource needed to unlock the Argent Skull and other upgrades. Unlike other resources, Bronze cannot be found in the Underworld and requires accessing the city of Ephyra in the Overworld. To reach it, you will need to unlock certain incantations and game systems before you can start collecting this material efficiently in Hades II.

Accessing the City

To enter the city and gather Bronze, you need the Incantation of Witching Wards, which defeats the barrier locking the gateway. Three materials are required: Cinder from boss Hecate; Moly from Artemis; and Shadow, created via Shadow Extraction in the Alchemy Tab.

You also need Ash, Psyche, and Faded Fabric. Once unlocked, you can access the surface temporarily, taking increasing damage but gathering resources. Unlocking Unraveling a Fateful Bond helps you stay longer and collect resources more safely in Hades II.

Gathering Bronze

Once you get to the city, walk around the area to find Bronze Mines. Ensure your Pickaxe is equipped, and then press the corresponding button to extract the Bronze. You can continue to visit the city to earn more Bronze; each deposit awards you three units.

If you do not have the incantation to extend your time on the surface, you will be on a strict timer, so plan your collection accordingly. Bronze is essential for several reasons. It allows extended time on the surface for exploration, unlocks the Fishing Rod, and enables you to use fishing mechanics in the game in Hades II.

Additionally, Bronze is required to unlock and enhance certain weapons, including the Argent Skull and aspects like the Aspect of Melinoe on the Axe. Due to its multiple uses, you should prioritize gathering Bronze as soon as possible.

Tips and Strategy

You cannot access the surface immediately at the start of the game. Unlocking the necessary incantations and gathering enough Bronze takes time, so patience is key. Focus on collecting materials efficiently and getting accustomed to the surface environment.

As you progress, the surface will become easier to manage, and your collection of Bronze will unlock additional features and gameplay options in Hades II.
