Brain Drain is a Creature upgrade that makes Hypno Baby's cooldown shorter. That means the mind-control shot comes back faster, which makes fights easier and saves time in busy rooms.

When Brain Drain is Ready

Because Brain Drain is linked to a Circuit Arcadia challenge, getting to that area is important. It also makes sense to chase after progress when Jeppy and the Dinner With Mom mission path open up, since that's when travel and side routes start to make sense.

Go to Circuit Arcadia and find the Challenge Route

Go through Circuit Arcadia until you see a clear challenge-style setup. The right path usually looks like it was planned, with a clear starting point and a path that is based on timing, movement, and staying on track. Keep going until the area changes into a more focused platforming lane if it feels like normal streets with no "test" layout.

Finish the Circuit Arcadia Challenge

Stick to the path and keep up. The most time is usually lost when you hesitate before a jump or overcorrect in the air. Stay on the clean line, use the safest platforms and keep going instead of stopping to get a perfect run. If enemies show up, get rid of them quickly and get back on the path right away so you don't lose speed.

Make sure that Brain Drain is unlocked

The reward is automatically added to your account after you finish the challenge. Look at the Creature upgrades and make sure that Brain Drain is listed as available. Then, try out Hypno Baby in a real fight to see how much faster the cooldown is, especially in rooms with a lot of targets.

If it doesn't unlock, here are some quick fixes

If Brain Drain doesn't show up, the challenge probably wasn't finished, so try it again and make sure the finish triggers correctly. If the route seems impossible, only slow down at the jump points where it is dangerous, and then speed up again as soon as you land. If you can't get to Circuit Arcadia yet, keep going with the story until you can, and then try the challenge again.
