High On Life 2 Guide | How to Save the Man From Drowning

Save the drowning NPC quickly and trigger the full rescue outcome without missing the interaction window.

The drowning scene takes place near the edge of the water, where an NPC is clearly having trouble. The most important thing is to react quickly and pay attention to the interaction prompt instead of fighting or wandering. If the NPC is already calling out, the rescue is going on and can be finished right away.

Don't think too much about how to get to the NPC.

Go straight to the waterline and keep the camera focused on the NPC. If the angle is wrong, the prompt can be picky. So, step closer, make a small change, and stay calm. If the NPC is bobbing in the water, the right place to stand is usually just a few steps from the edge.

Start the Rescue Interaction

Turn it on as soon as the prompt shows up. As soon as it registers, the rescue happens right away. If it doesn't work, go back one step, re-center the NPC, and try again. The best way to succeed quickly is to keep your eyes on the NPC and not move around too much.

Confirm the Outcome and Get the Reward Beat

Stay close by for the follow-up reaction after the rescue is over. This is where the scene pays off and the end result becomes clear. If you see a reward prompt or recognition line, wait until it finishes before leaving so you don't miss anything.

What to do if the Prompt Doesn't Show Up

If the rescue prompt doesn't show up, it's usually because the NPC is just a little too far away. Move to the edge and face the NPC directly. If the scene resets or the NPC stops responding, walk a short distance away and then come back to reset the trigger. If the area is a mess, get rid of any threats nearby first, then try the interaction again with a steady camera angle.
