Fishing in High On Life 2 is part of a collectible grind that is easy to miss. There is an aquarium in the Quarters inside the base where you can put fish. There are 35 catches to collect in all, and every unique fish and item is important for finishing the tank and starting Tanks For The Memories.

How to Get the Fishing Rod

You can find the Fishing Rod in the Beach Area. An NPC on the shore gives you the rod as a reward for raising his boat. You can do this as soon as you unlock Travis as a gun. You can keep the rod once the boat is up, and the first fishing spot is in the same area.

How to Catch the Right Fish When You Go Fishing

The fish that move around and sparkle are the ones to catch. You shouldn't chase the fish that don't sparkle or the ones that are still sparkling. To get a fish to bite, tap the reel. The tapping changes for each fish.

Some people need slow taps, some need quick double taps, and some need three taps, a short break, and then three more taps. Some fish are hard to catch, so you have to change the rhythm.

All the Places to Fish

Fishing Spot 1: Beach

The first place to fish is where you get the Fishing Rod in the Beach Area. This is the best place to start making progress toward the Quarters Aquarium.

Little Island is the second place to fish. The second place to fish is on the small island in the water close to the beach. Stand on the small piece of land and throw your line into the water around it.

Fishing Spot 3: The Pier Under the Cruise Ship

The Pier below the Cruise Ship is the third place to fish. It's easy to miss this spot, and it could be the last place to fish when all the other areas have already been cleared.

Fishing Spot 4: Riverside's Circuit Arcadia

The next place to fish is in Circuit Arcadia, at Riverside. You can get there by playing the main story. This one is harder because a riverboat can go along the river and mess up the Fishing Rod, so it's helpful to time the cast.

Fishing Spot 5: Circuit Arcadia, which is close to Ria Pharmaceuticals

At the bottom of the steps in Circuit Arcadia, near Ria Pharmaceuticals, there is another place to fish. Once you get to the area, this is an easy casting point.

Fishing Spot 6: The Middle of the Map Zoo

There is a fishing spot in the middle of the map at the Zoo. While looking for unique catches that are missing, this is an easy place to rotate into.

Fishing Spot 7: Near the Skate Bowl

The next place to fish is next to the Skate Bowl, or even inside it, depending on where you are. If the angle feels wrong, stepping to a cleaner edge will make it easier to cast.

Fishing Spot 8: The Big Zoo Aquarium

The big Zoo Aquarium is the eighth and last place to fish. If you still need the third Ball Guy for the Ball Gun, this is also where you can find him.
