Graphorn is a powerful beast and an enemy of level 28, and you'll need to go into the fight with some planning and awareness. If you're struggling to take down the mighty Graphorn in Hogwarts Legacy, this guide walks you through the quickest and most efficient way to beat him, even if you're a little under-leveled.

First of all, the Crucio and Imperio spells will have no effect here, so go ahead and take them off your spell set. Stick with all fire spells, they're your best option.

Rolling is Key

In the first portion of the fight, things are relatively easy. You don't want to try countering Graphorn at this stage; instead, just keep rolling around to dodge his attacks. As you do that, continue launching fire spells and regular attacks at him. Your main goal early on is to build up your Ancient Magic so you can trigger that L1 + R1 ('Z' for Keyboard) combo for big damage.

Keep spamming your regular attacks and spell combos to charge your Ancient Magic meter. But don't use it yet, hold on to that heavy damage for later.

Save Your Ancient Magic

When Graphorn's health gets low during this first phase, your instinct might be to fire off the Ancient Magic attack right away. Don't do it. Save that power for the second portion of the fight because that's when things get a lot more intense.

If Graphorn backs up and prepares to jump on you, just roll directly in front of him. That should help you avoid the incoming attack. The dodge timing is forgiving if you stay mobile.

Second Phase of the Fight

When the second part starts, Graphorn gets extremely furious. He starts to use new moves, and his range gets a lot farther. This is the part where most people have trouble. Use your Ancient Magic as soon as the second part starts. Press L1 and R1('Z' for Keyboard) together to do a lot of damage right away.

From there, keep throwing whatever objects are available using R1 and cast your spells as they come off cooldown. Stay in front of him at all times. Do not let him get distance on you because if he does, he'll use his long-range power and destroy you.

As long as you remain in front of him and stay on the move, you can avoid most of his attacks. His patterns are pretty predictable, so with enough rolling and repositioning, you'll find you can dodge nearly everything he throws at you.

If he ever manages to get range, just roll forward again to close the gap. It might not work every single time, but more often than not, it keeps you safe.
