Last confrontation

You finally wake up the Grandmother of Silk when you call her from the Cradle in the Fortress when you are ready to fight her. This ancient being is both a higher being and a pale being. She has godlike powers that make her almost impossible to beat in normal battle.

You quickly learn that beating her in a fight won't solve the kingdom's problems for good, because she will always come back from the dead.

Because you can bind things, you are the only one who can really stop the Grandmother of Silk. Instead of trying to kill her, you should take in all of her Silk power in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

To do this, you must take her energy into yourself, but doing so will have devastating effects on you and alter who you are at your core.

Transformation Process

You are now the queen of Pharloom because you chose to take on the power of the Grandmother of Silk. As soon as you finish the binding process, your body starts to change in significant ways.

As a sign of your new rank and power, your mask changes into a Weaver mask. Significant changes occur to your Crest and Silk spool, which are clear signs of your increased power in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

You naturally know how to weave and can make Silk from your shell, so this absorption lets you create a lot more Silk than the previous Grandmother of Silk ever could.

Because you can weave better now, you can spread Silk threads all over the country more quickly and farther than ever before.

Changing Form

After you take in the Silk power, you wrap the whole city in a giant Cocoon. As you move through this protective structure, you undergo a profound transformation that reveals how you become a fully developed Weaver.

During this process, you get two more sets of arms, for a total of six parts in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Before you changed your appearance, your Weaver mask looked like your real face. Now, it seems like your new face. This change in the mask's look shows how much the power you received has changed you. Your nature has changed from that of a mixed being to that of a Weaver.

The End of the Kingdom

Even though you have become a godlike being, Pharloom still has the same fundamental problems. The people of the land have already absorbed the power that runs through it, and they are still stuck under the curse that has been on the land for a long time. The people who live there are not free now that you are the Silk King in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

The Silk threads you now control are spread out across the country even more than they were when the last Grandmother of Silk was in charge. Your improved Silk network affects every part of Pharloom, making sure that no area is not under the control of the threads.

The Power Cost

This change has given you considerable power, but it has also come at a significant cost. The enormous amount of power you now have will eventually start to affect your mental health.

The sheer power of the Silk energy running through you will slowly drive you crazy, just like it did with the last Grandmother of Silk. In this ending, you've solved the current threat by becoming it yourself, which is a hollow victory in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

The part of your nature that craved power and control has achieved its goal, but at the expense of your humanity and the kingdom's true freedom. You have basically become the new source of Pharloom's curse instead of the one who breaks it.

The change can't be undone, and your new shape ensures that the cycle of Silk control will continue under your control forever. There is no real progress toward absolute freedom for the people in the kingdom as it trades one Silk-wielding tyrant for another in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
