Lies of P: Overture Guide | How To Beat Premetamorphic Green Hunter Boss

This guide explains a proven method for defeating the Premetamorphic Green Hunter boss in the Lies of P Overture DLC. It outlines the necessary preparations, equipment choices, and step-by-step tactics to manage each phase of the encounter.

Equipment and Preparations

Put on the Salamander Dagger and bring the Aegis Legion Arm with you before you fight the Premetamorphic Green Hunter. The arm can protect you very well. 

Stock up on stagger-focused throwables and load multiple Fire Canisters into the extra back slot to exploit the boss's vulnerability during its opening attack sequence.

Opening Phase

At the start of the battle, deploy stagger throwables to interrupt the Premetamorphic Green Hunter as it charges across the arena. Continue using these until the white build-up bar appears around the boss's health gauge. 

Once the bar is full, refrain from attacking immediately; the boss will unleash an acid-spewing attack shortly thereafter.

Acid Attack and Canister Placement

Throw fire canisters around where the boss is sitting just before the acid attack starts. This makes sure that the Premetamorphic Green Hunter takes burning damage while it heals. Stay away from the acid if it hits, and use healing items as needed.

Guarding and Dodging Grab Attacks

The Aegis Legion Arm functions best against the boss's grab maneuvers. When the Premetamorphic Green Hunter attempts a close-range grab, raise the Aegis Shield to block the attack.

If you want to avoid getting hurt by the jumping grab, dodge under the boss. Both of the boss's grab moves heal them if they hit, so good defense is critical.

Ranged Slashes and Counterattacks

During sweeping slashes, maintain a safe distance until the attack animation completes. After the boss finishes its combo, quickly close in to deliver a few hits with the Salamander Dagger, then retreat before the next assault.

Burrowing Phase

When the Premetamorphic Green Hunter burrows underground, sidestep diagonally to avoid the emerging strike. Time the dodge precisely; a late evasion still allows recovery without severe consequences. 

Once the boss resurfaces, this momentary opening can be used to either throw additional stagger items or land melee hits.

Final Opportunity

If the boss performs its jumping crab attack and misses, exploit the brief recovery window. Prefer melee strikes with the Salamander Blade for maximum damage. Continue alternating guard with the Aegis Shield and aggressive counterattacks until the Premetamorphic Green Hunter is defeated.
