Anguished Guardian of the Ruins stands as one of the most formidable bosses in the Lies of P: Overture DLC, challenging pilgrims to perfect their timing, positioning, and defensive tactics.

Preparation

Prior to confronting the Anguished Guardian of the Ruins, pilgrims should equip the Legion Magazine to maximize sustained fire damage and arm themselves with the Flamberge, the DLC's primary flame weapon, to exploit the boss's elemental weakness.

The Salamander Dagger provides melee versatility, fitted with an Acidic Crystal Spear Handle, which balances reach and scaling. Two or three Fire Throwables will help make gaps in the defenses, and Amulets that increase fire damage or stamina recovery can turn the tide when consumables are low.

When the Guardian overextends, targeting its hand yields the quickest path to stagger; once it collapses, charged Flamberge strikes to both the hand and head, delivering devastating damage. Repeat this dance of dodge or block, reposition under the boss, and unleash fire assaults until the first phase concludes.

Solo Strategy – Phase Two

In its second phase, the Anguished Guardian of the Ruins gains a laser barrage that can punish overzealous attackers. Pilgrims must read the boss's head-tilt animations closely: a sideways tilt forecasts a sweeping beam, while a forward tilt signals a straight-line shot.

Remaining close beneath its chassis allows easy evasion of these lasers and opens windows for counterattacks. Mastery of the red slam block remains essential; successfully blocking this move leaves the Guardian vulnerable on the ground.
