Life is Strange: Double Exposure Guide | How to Unlock All Endings

If you’ve reached the end of Life is Strange: Double Exposure and are wondering how to see all the possible endings, you’re in the right place. Beware that this guide will have some spoilers.

In her bouts to try to rescue Safi with her newly gained powers, Max goes through some shenanigans. You should have seen a lot of things by now, and to get the ending you want, it boils down to an important choice that you have to make in Chapter 5 when you are speaking to Safi. With there being only a single choice determining your ending, there are only two possible endings in Life is Strange: Double Exposure.

By the time you get to Chapter 5, the game gives you a huge choice with Safi that will determine how the story concludes. By the time this occurs, decisions with other characters, such as Yasmin, Gwen, and Loretta, have also determined how each of their arcs ends. If you want to see how it all plays out for them, be certain to talk to each character after the storm in Chapter 5.

Ending 1

Safi Feels Betrayed and Teams Up with Diamond

This ending occurs if you choose not to support Safi in Chapter 5. When she asks Max to stay with her, you'll have to select the option 'Refuse'. By doing so, Safi will feel utterly abandoned. Her pain and resentment drive her to revert to being "Other Max," a darker form of herself, and she then leaves Caledon by herself, severing contact with Max.

After the credits, attention is turned to Diamond, who is seen to cope with a disturbing new turn of events: she's suffering from nosebleeds, which are a subtle hint that she has latent powers of her own. As Diamond grapples to come to terms with this, Safi suddenly appears and hands her a handkerchief for reassurance. Safi offers to help Diamond understand what's been going on with her. Diamond agrees, and the two walk away together, providing a possible future storyline.

Ending 2

Safi Trusts Max and Still Teams Up with Diamond

Obviously, for a more optimistic scenario, you need to support Safi in Chapter 5. If she asks Max to stay with her, you will have a choice, so choose 'Agree'. With this choice, Safi feels valid and supported, and she doesn't lose her trust in Max. She gives a sweet hug to Max before she leaves Caledon and leaves truly as herself, not "Other Max."

Major Spoilers

Just like in the first ending, the post-credits scene centers on Diamond. She experiences the same mysterious nosebleeds, hinting at her hidden powers. Safi arrives once again, offering comfort and guidance to help Diamond navigate her abilities. Diamond takes Safi’s hand, and the two walk off together, leaving the door open for future possibilities.

 

The two endings depend solely on how you decide to answer Safi in the last chapter. Although scenes with Diamond do share some similarities, the tone of the story's ending changes whether you stand by Safi or turn away from her. It's an emotional choice, but both of the endings have weight in their way.
