Every Project FromSoftware Confirmed and Working on—Dark Souls IV Next?

If you’ve been keeping up with FromSoftware, you’ve probably noticed how busy things have gotten. The studio has confirmed projects on the way, and rumors also point to other games in early development or under codenames. 

From new games and anime adaptations to an Elden Ring movie and other rumored projects, here’s a look at what FromSoftware is working on now and what could be next. Sekiro and Elden Ring are Moving Beyond Games. A Sekiro: No Defeat anime is set for 2026, introducing Sekiro’s world to new viewers.

Fans of FromSoftware already have a lot to look forward to with the confirmed lineup. The Duskbloods is planned for release in 2026 as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, with Hidetaka Miyazaki directing. Unlike previous games, this one will focus on multiplayer rather than single-player gameplay.

Looking ahead, Elden Ring is being adapted into a live-action movie.

Alex Garland will direct, and A24 is producing, with a planned 2028 release. This creative team sets the project apart. Garland and A24 are both known for their unique filmmaking styles, so fans are eager to see how they will bring FromSoft’s dark fantasy world to life. Project FMC Could Be FromSoft’s Next Mystery Game

This is where things become much less certain. Project FMC is rumored to be in development as a multiplatform game, possibly coming out in 2026 or 2027. FromSoft hasn’t officially announced it, and no one knows exactly what it is yet. There are three main theories about what FMC could be.

The first theory suggests it’s a Dark Souls III remaster. This idea is based on reports about FromSoftware’s naming patterns and rumors from an insider. Another theory is that it’s a follow-up to Armored Core. It could be a new game or a continuation of Armored Core VI. 

Since the last game was well received, another Armored Core project would make sense. The third theory might be the most interesting: some reports suggest FMC could be a new action RPG led by Masaru Yamamura, who designed Sekiro’s combat system. 

If that’s the case, the game could build on the parry-focused combat that made Sekiro stand out.

This would also align with Miyazaki's desire to further develop that combat style. But for now, none of these theories are confirmed. A Rumored Pirate-Themed RPG: Another rumor suggests a completely different direction for FromSoftware: a dark fantasy RPG set at sea.

There are actually two versions of this rumor online. The first, known as the “Vessel” leak, describes a game set around a giant shipwreck that has become part of an island. The main character is called the “Drowned.” Unlike Elden Ring, this game would focus on a smaller, more contained environment rather than a huge open world.

The second rumor, called “Cerulean Onslaught”, is about a more open game where players sail between different islands. However, there’s good reason to be cautious about this second rumor. Its original release date was already incorrect, so it’s harder to trust the rest of its details.

FromSoftware hasn’t confirmed either of these projects. Bloodborne Remake Rumor Continues. Then there’s Bloodborne, which has been the subject of remake rumors for years. A recent rumor claims Bluepoint Games once pitched a Bloodborne Remake to Sony before the studio closed.

The report says FromSoft later got involved to manage or pause the project, wanting more creative control over the series.

If that’s true, it could explain why a Bloodborne Remake hasn’t happened yet, even though fans keep asking for it. Still, this is just a rumor. No one has confirmed a remake or that FromSoft stepped in. So what is FromSoftware actually working on? Right now, there’s a clear difference between what’s confirmed and what’s just rumor or leaks.

You can count the Sekiro anime and the Elden Ring live-action film as confirmed projects. But when it comes to Project FMC, the rumored sea-themed RPGs, and the Bloodborne Remake, it’s wise to be cautious. Project FMC is especially interesting because the main theories suggest it could be a Dark Souls III Remaster, another Armored Core game, or a new action RPG inspired by Sekiro.

This uncertainty is part of what makes FromSoft’s future so exciting right now. The studio already has enough confirmed projects to keep fans busy, but if even one of the big rumors turns out to be true, there could be even more coming than FromSoftware has revealed so far.
