Resident Evil Village Guide | How To Solve Doll Puzzle

The Doll Puzzle in Resident Evil Village is not quite simple and there a lot of secrets which requires good focus. You will have to go through the House Beneviento portion of the Resident Evil Village campaign. If you’re having trouble with finding a solution, this guide will take you through the doll puzzle and all the other eerie challenges that come with it.

Examining the Doll

The first thing to do is look at the doll in the center of the room. Interact with the right shoulder, examine it, and remove it to find a silver key—your first important item. Next, move around to the other side and interact with the hand to retrieve a blood-covered ring. Finally, check out the left leg, pulling it off to acquire the winding key.

There is one more crucial piece of information. If you pull off the other arm and examine it, you will see a strange icon with three closed eyes. This detail will be useful later.

Unlocking the Door

Once you’re done examining the mannequin, use the silver key to open the door beside it. Enter the adjacent office and go to the sink. Interact with it twice, then select the blood-covered ring to wash it, revealing a code on the back. Inspect it in your inventory, and you will see the code: 052911.

Return to the main room where the doll is and input 052911 into the lock. The door will open, giving you access to the hallway.

Solving the Music Box Puzzle

Go down the hallway and enter the first door on the left. Inside, on a table, you will find a music box. Use the winding key from the doll to open it. You must align the scratches correctly for the music box to play. This might take some trial and error, but once correctly aligned, the music box will play and reveal a set of tweezers.

Retrieving the Film Strip

Return to the main room with the mannequin. Interact with its head and check out the mouth. Use the tweezers to remove a piece of film from its throat. Before leaving, examine the mannequin’s eye. You will see a symbol of a crow flying to the right with a twisted crown inside a triangle—another crucial detail for later.

Arranging the Film

Head back out the door you unlocked with the padlock and past the room where you found the tweezers. Near the elevator, go right into the study. On the table, you will find a list of clues and a stand where you can place the film. Arrange the film in the following order: The bear, The book, Rose (the baby), The music box and The ring.

Once everything is in the correct order, play the movie. A spooky scene will play on the wall, and a secret door will open.

Finding the Scissors

Enter the secret door and find a collection of dolls. One of them holds a pair of scissors. Take the scissors and use them to cut the bloody bandages blocking your path. Continue down the corridor until you reach a white door, which you can now unlock.

Unlocking the Medallion Door

Go back to the main room and use the scissors to cut the mannequin’s bandages, revealing a disk. Take the disk and proceed down the left tunnel. Place the brass medallion into the door mechanism. Adjust the two remaining icons: one should match the bird symbol from the mannequin’s eye, and the other should display the three closed eyes. This will unlock a passage leading downward.

Retrieving the Breaker Box Key

Proceed down the eerie passage and descend the well using the ladder. At the bottom, you will find the breaker box key. Grab it and make your way back up.

Escaping the Giant Baby Monster

When you return to the room where the mannequin was, you’ll find it missing. The room will be bathed in red, with a trail of gore leading into the hallway. Follow it cautiously, and you will encounter a monstrous, grotesque baby-like creature. Avoid it at all costs.

Flee back to the doll room, then into the doctor's office. Make your way back down the hallway, duck into the secret doll room, and eventually loop around to the elevator room. Open the breaker box using the key, and inside, you will find a relief of a child.

Using the Relief of a Child

Turn around and go back into the study, then into the secret door. Crawl through the passage and wait in the small hiding spot. The monstrous baby will eventually crawl past. Once it does, follow it slightly, then take the left turn where you will find a door that accepts the relief of a child. Insert it to open the door and proceed inside.

Retrieving the Fuse

Follow the linear path through the house until you reach a bedroom where you will find a fuse. Upon taking it, the lights will go out, and your character will automatically pull out a flashlight. Brace yourself for another encounter with the baby monster.

Hiding and Making Your Escape

Head back through the house, but when you encounter the baby monster, immediately turn around and sprint back to the bedroom. Hide under the bed and wait for the creature to enter. When it moves behind you, take advantage of its lack of intelligence and run out the door.

Sprint as fast as possible back to the elevator. Insert the fuse into the fuse box, power up the elevator, and get the hell out of there.
