Here's a guide on how to beat the Great Centipede in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
Game Guide by Ragib Rawnak on Jul 26, 2025
You'll face the Great Centipede in the Bandit Cave at Worship's Rise. This boss fights with fire claws, spits corruption clouds, and burrows underground to attack from below. You need to use cover, watch for ground signals, and time your dodges to win in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

Location and Access
Go to the Worship's Rise shrine and head down the designated path.
In the chamber ahead, you'll automatically trigger the encounter sequence with this formidable opponent in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
Difficulty Assessment and Preparation
This encounter has a difficulty level of 5 out of 10. To improve your chances of survival, approach this battle at Level 25 or higher.
The Axe weapon type deals the most damage against this enemy, but the Longsword is also a good option.
Magic-based strategies are less effective because the creature has a strong resistance to arcane damage and can move quickly while you're casting spells in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
Enemy Characteristics and Attack Patterns
This giant centipede uses various powerful attacks that you need to know to survive.
Its massive claws deliver fire-enhanced melee strikes, while its segmented tail releases dangerous Corruption clouds that inflict persistent damage over time in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
Additionally, the beast can conjure magical projectiles, which you can identify by the bright blue circle that appears in the air during casting.
At about half health, the encounter moves into its second phase in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
The boss digs underground and launches surprise attacks from below, marked by orange-glowing spots in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
During this underground phase, you cannot take help from your AI companions.

Combat Strategy and Positioning
Begin by positioning yourself behind the large rock formations spread across the arena. When the centipede hits you, it becomes temporarily stunned for a few seconds. This creates great chances for longer combo attacks.
Each rock hit will trigger this stunning effect, so use every available boulder carefully. For the creature's regular melee combinations, dodge sideways to avoid damage in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
Pay close attention to its final attack in each combo sequence. It includes a long wind-up animation in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
After successfully dodging this concluding strike, you'll have enough time to deliver a whole combo of your own.

Elemental Hazards and Defensive Measures
Improving your resistance to fire and Corruption elements greatly increases your chances of survival.
When purple clouds appear in the arena, immediately retreat to a safe distance as these manifestations inflict the Corruption status effect, causing continuous health deterioration over time.
Underground Phase Tactics
Once the centipede reaches half health and burrows underground, your movement strategy becomes critical. Remain stationary rather than running around the arena in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
Focus your attention on the ground directly beneath your position, watching for the telltale orange glow that precedes each subterranean assault. When this warning appears, dodge to the side to avoid the emerging attack.
The creature will carry out this underground attack pattern three times before returning to surface combat.
Once it finishes this sequence, it goes back to its original fighting style. You can then use the same rock-stunning tactics from the first phase.
Rewards and Spoils
Defeating this formidable opponent provides essential rewards. You will get the Astral Blade, Taoist Token, Believer's Statue, the Echo of the Great Centipede spell, and the Blightweaver Great Centipede trophy in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
