Black Myth: Wukong | How to Capture Spirits (Blessed Gourd Location)

In Black Myth: Wukong, the Blessed Gourd is an item that lets you to capture the spirits of bosses you've defeated and use them in combat. Here’s a quick guide to help you find the Blessed Gourd and make the most of it.

Start by heading to Bamboo Grove, located near the Snake Trail fast travel point. You’ll come across this area after passing the temple where you fought the white wolf. Once you’ve arrived at the fast travel location, look to your right—you’ll see a set of stairs. Climb all the way to the top, and you’ll find a man waiting there. Interact with him, and he’ll give you the Blessed Gourd.

If you’ve already missed some spirits along the way, don’t worry. You can easily recover them by visiting the Snake Trail shrine. At the shrine, you’ll find an option to retrieve any lost spirits. This is also where you can upgrade your spirits. Bosses you’ve previously defeated may drop spirits, and these can be upgraded to improve their abilities, sometimes even granting you passive effects.

Once you have the Blessed Gourd and have retrieved or upgraded your spirits, open your menu to select the spirit you want to use. When your guard is replenished, you can activate the spirit during a boss fight by pressing R2 and L2 simultaneously (this is for PS5, so button combinations may vary depending on your platform). The spirit will then help you during combat, and sort of becomes essential later in the game.
