Geoff Keighley Confirms the Summer Game Fest
Competitor to E3 arrives called Summer Game Fest
News by Grayshadow on May 01, 2020
With E3 canceled many wondered what event would take its place. Most assumed that companies would just host their own digital events but now a new event has been confirmed. Hosted by Geoff Keighley who this February, before E3 was canceled, confirmed he would not be attending the event for the first time in years. Now, Keighley has confirmed a new event taking place between May and August called Summer Game Fest hosted by former E3 2020 creative director iam8bit.
The event already has several acclaimed figures in support for "Phase 1". This includes 2K Games, Activision, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Blizzard Entertainment, Bungie, CD Projekt RED, Digital Extremes, EA, Sony, Private Division, Riot Games, Square Enix, Steam, WB, and Microsoft.
Those are a lot of heavy hitters right at the start. With playable content, new information about the upcoming games of 2020 and 2021, and much more promised. So many, this is where the PS5 will be shown.
