EA has shown a massive interest in expanding into the mobile market with the company adding Industrial Toys to their organization.
Industrial Toys was founded in 2012 by Alex Seropian, the CEO of Industrial Toys, Tim Harris, and Brent Pease and Seropian. The company is notoriously known for Seropian as the co-founder of Bungie and co-creator of Halo.
Industrial Toys first game, Midnight Star, back in 2015 and its sequel Midnight Star: Renegade was released in the following year.
Of the acquisition, Samantha Ryan, SVP and Group GM in EA’s Worldwide Studios stated the following:
“Creating breakthrough games takes passionate developers and incredible creativity, and each time we’ve worked with the Industrial Toys team, we’ve been inspired by their unique approach. We’re thrilled to have them join our studio organization, pursue new ideas together and bring amazing new games to our players.”
Details of what Industrial Toys will be working on with EA hasn't been provided but after seeing EA's E3 2018 presentation focus so much effort on Command & Conquer: Rivals it's likely the company will have the developers of Industrial Toys aid in its development.
