Pokemon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass Revealed

Pokemon Sword and Shield is getting post-launch content . With Game Freak expanding on the Galar Region with new expansions throughout 2020.

The first expansion is called The Isle of Armor and will launch this June. It'll take place on a new island with more beaches and bogs. The second expansion is called The Crown of Tundra and will launch this Fall 2020. It'll focus more on winter-themed content.

The expansion will bring new Pokemon. The first being a fighting mythical Pokemon named Kubfu with a new character called Mustard. Kubfu can evolve into Urshifu, which has 2 forms. The first form is a Singel Strike style that is Dark and Fighting-type. The second is Fighting Water Rapid Style.

Calyrex is a Psychic Grass legendary being introduced in The Crown Tundra.

Game Freak is reintroducing 200 older Pokemon, with every major legendary Pokemon being added. With some having Galarian forms like Slowpoke which is now a pure Psychic-type instead of Normal Psychic.

New rivals will be introduced to the game based on the version you're playing. Klara is a Poison-type trainer with Sword and Avery is a Psychic Pokemon trainer exclusive to Shield.

Pokemon Sword and Shield is now available for the Nintendo Switch. The expansion will cost $29.99.
