Orchestrion Rolls are items that unlock songs for the Hideaway's orchestrion. If you manage to find these rolls, they can be listened to with the music player in Clive's quarters.
Each one is associated with a specific track and usually becomes available after an important event, side quest, or upon discovery of a certain hidden location in Valisthea. In order to fully customize your Hideaway, you will want to find every available Roll.
Early-Game Orchestral Rolls
Rosaria's Theme
The first Orchestrion Roll you will likely be familiar with is entitled "Rosaria's Theme." It is freely available during the main story after the prologue of Rosaria: you don't have to obtain this one specifically as it has ties with the storyline.
A Mother's Prayer
A Mother's Prayer - Complete the side quest "Healing the Wounded" in the Lostwing region. This early game side quest involves helping a healer acquire materials for her patients. Complete the mission to hear this track with a nostalgic tone. Mid-game orchestral rolls The Sands of Velkroy
This Roll is found in a treasure chest in the Velkroy Desert. To get to the chest, you have to navigate through a maze-like area of the desert while avoiding or defeating roaming monsters. The chest is buried in a very remote location next to a collapsed structure, so investigate properly.
Lament for the Fallen
"Lament of the Fallen" is associated with the mid-game Hunt Board. Defeat the A-Rank mark "Deathgaze," a powerful foe that can be found in Norvent Valley, and the roll will be added to your inventory as a reward.
High-level Orchestral Rolls
Hymn of Crystals
This Roll is unlocked by completing the side quest "Echoes of the Crystals," which becomes available later in the game. The quest entails going back to the Mothercrystals and defeating highly powerful Eikon-enhanced foes protecting the places where they rest. Upon completing the quest, the roll is rewarded.
March of the Chocobos
To get this jolly roll, complete the side quest "A Chocobo's Tale." This quest becomes available after you've rescued your Chocobo, Ambrosia, and requires you to hunt down a pack of wild Chocobos in the Tabor area. Not only will completing the quest reward you with the orchestrion roll, but it will also unlock new Chocobo customization options.
The legendary Orchestra Rolls
Battle of the Ancients
"Battle of the Ancients" is one of the rarest Orchestrion Rolls, located in the underground dungeon "Hall of Ancients." To reach this dungeon, one has to collect all 12 Ancient Sigils spread around Valisthea.
These sigils are obtained after solving puzzles, fighting uncommon markings, and finding secret places. Once the dungeon gets unlocked, the orchestrion roll will be found in a chest in the last chamber.
Eternal Flame
The "Eternal Flame" roll is received after completing the post-game quest "Legacy of the Flame." This involves tracing Clive's journey across Valisthea and seeing the remnants of past wars. After finishing the quest and defeating the final boss, the roll is added to your collection in memory of Clive.
More Orchestrion Roll Collection Tips
Exploration is key to finding secret Orchestrion Rolls. Also, be sure to look for treasure chests in out-of-the-way locations and revisit old areas after story progress is made since many new quests and gear become available.
Be sure to check the Hunt Board regularly for new marks, as some rolls are tied to defeating rare enemies. Finally, chat with NPCs in the Hideaway and other hubs, as several rolls are rewards for completing side-quests.
