Back 4 Blood is the next big cooperative title but recently a fan noticed that the PlayStation store listed the game requiring online to play. The person asked the developer if the game can be played offline and Turtle Rock Studios responded with no at launch.

Back 4 Blood,NoobFeed,

@TurtleRock Back 4 Blood can be played offline with AI teammates correct? Wanted to ask because on the PS store it says online play required. Really would like to know before I make the purchase, please.

We're looking into ways we could support offline for the future but you will need an internet connection to play at launch.

The developer will add offline play in the future but at launch, the game won't have an offline mode. As expected fans are not happy with this option as always online has been something gamers rightfully hate. As seen with Outriders a huge amount of issues can be caused due to that requirement.

Many can argue this being a cooperative game that online support should be expected. However, some buy these games to play locally with friends, and without that option, some will just avoid that day 1 purchase until it's added.

Back 4 Blood launches on October 12th for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
