E3 2022 Will Also Be Online-Only Due to Omicron
E3 2022 is online only
News by Grayshadow on Jan 07, 2022
E3 2021 was online-only for the first time ever due to the outbreak of COVID-19. Now after the rise of the Onicrone variant E3 2022 will also be online-only.
As reported by VentureBeat,
“Due to the ongoing health risks surrounding COVID-19 and its potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees, E3 will not be held in person in 2022,” the ESA said in a statement to GamesBeat. “We remain incredibly excited about the future of E3 and look forward to announcing more details soon.”
This is likely the best choice. Despite E3 2021's shift to online-only, it was successful in bringing the E3 experience to more people.
