Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order was the positive break Star Wars video games needed. Developed by Respawn Entertainment the title was a massive hit and a sequel is on its way. With EA confirming that this is just the start of a new franchise.

IGN reported that EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated this is the "first title in an entirely new franchise." Confirming that a sequel is coming.

This shouldn't be a surprise considering the game was a success but more surprising is that EA considered it a success. With CFO Blake Jorgensen stating the game "beat our expectations" and sold over 10 million copies. EA is notorious for having very high sales expectations for their games, for example despite Battlefield V selling 7.3 million copies that game was still short 1 million sales from EA's expectations. Another example is Anthem, which was expected to sell 6 million copies by EA in about a month from its launch which it didn't meet.

Hopefully, this series will continue to live as EA is notorious for shutting down studios and killing IPs such as Visceral Games and their IP Dead Space which is still left unfinished.
