Gotham Knights' Fantastic Cosmetics Revealed
Cosmetics include designs based off of Batman Beyond, Jim Lee, and Shinobi

Warner Bros. Games has unveiled a large selection of cosmetic items for their upcoming superhero title Gotham Knights. In an exclusive first look, IGN presented 28 suits and an in-depth discussion on the process behind their creation.
Cosmetics in Gotham Knights will come in two forms, suitstyles, and transmog sets. Suitstyles feature customizable elements and can change a player’s stats, meanwhile, transmog sets are alternate skins. While the 'Beyond' suitstyle and 'KnightWatch' transmog set are available through the Deluxe and Collector’s Editions, IGN reports that Warner Bros. has no intention of including microtransactions in Gotham Knights.
The 'Beyond' suitstyle set is a group of oil-black costumes inspired by the animated film Batman Beyond. Meanwhile, the KnightWatch set is a brighter, more classic-looking group of costumes designed by esteemed comic book artist Jim Lee. Lee, whose notable works with DC Comics include Batman: Hush, Superman: For Tomorrow, and All-Star Batman & Robin, the Boy Wonder was not the only outside source drafted in by Warner Bros. Games to create cosmetics for the Gotham Knights. The team began internally and branched out, recruiting artists from across the world that Character Art Director Jay Evans felt “would have styles that kind of synced up” with the work being done by Warner Bros. Games. Many artists from nations including Germany, Korea, and Japan all contributed ideas.
The suitstyles are indeed very diverse, IGN showed off 6 sets, including the aforementioned 'Beyond' suitstyle, but there will be 11 at launch. These include the militaristic 'Knight Ops' set and the Feudal Japan-inspired 'Shinobi' set. There will be four customizable elements in each suitstyle set: “the cowl, the logo, gauntlets, and boots – plus the colorway” and players will be able to unlock and equip them by collecting blueprints throughout their game time. As the suitstyles are “associated with different activities and different factions”, players will gradually build up a library of blueprints as and when “they’re thematically connected to the story”.
Gotham Knights has steadily grown into one of 2022’s most anticipated titles. Starring a new generation of heroes, a Gotham City that is bigger than ever, and an intriguing mystery that puts a fresh spin on the Batman mythos.
Gotham Knights releases on October 25th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
