The launch is getting closer, and Infinity Ward still has several major reveals planned, from DMZ and camos to progression details and Season 1.

With the Modern Warfare 4 launch getting closer, the next few days are set to be packed with information. The game is scheduled to launch its multiplayer on October 23. While we've already seen plenty through the beta and various trailers, Infinity Ward and Call of Duty still have several important details to explain.

The beta gave players an early look at multiplayer and also gave Infinity Ward plenty of feedback to work with. There were already noticeable changes between the first and second weekends, but the launch version is expected to go through even more adjustments. The studio has been running additional playtests internally since the beta, so the final game should include changes based on both player feedback and those tests.

A full launch change blog is expected to cover a wide range of updates.

You'll get details on weapon changes, attachments, spawns, maps, movement, and other gameplay systems. Essentially, the changes made between the beta and launch should be laid out in one place, giving you a much clearer idea of what has changed before the full multiplayer release.

One of the biggest remaining reveals is DMZ. The mode has already been teased, including an initial look during the Xbox Games Showcase in June, but that was more of an introduction than a full reveal. The complete breakdown is still expected, with Call of Duty accounts and Griggs previously indicating that more information was coming soon.

The full DMZ reveal should include gameplay footage and more details on how the mode works. One detail still unclear is whether DMZ will include any kind of PVE support or remain focused on PVPVE. Questions also remain about the DMZ deployment bonus included with the Vault Edition.

The bonus has been mentioned, but its exact details still haven't been explained.

That leaves plenty of DMZ information still to come before Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23. Given how little has been officially shown about the mode so far, its full reveal could be one of the most substantial pieces of information still to come before launch.

The camo system is another area that normally receives a full breakdown shortly before a Call of Duty game launches. We've already seen several mastery camos through Call of Duty Next; there's more to explain about how the entire system works.

A detailed camo blog should cover the challenges you'll need to complete, whether certain challenges have level requirements, and how progression through the different camos works. While some rewards have already been shown, the full system still hasn't received the kind of detailed explanation that usually arrives before launch.

The prestige and progression systems should also get their own pre-launch breakdown. Call of Duty typically provides a full look at the progression structure, including the levels you'll move through and what you'll unlock as you progress.

The beta already offered a small glimpse of progression through images showing unlocks around levels 20 to 30. The full launch version should go much further, potentially detailing the entire progression path and what you'll receive when entering prestige.

Modern Warfare 4 is also introducing different approaches to prestige, including a more classic system and a less risky option. More information is still needed to explain exactly how these systems work and what you'll receive from each one, making this another area where a detailed pre-launch breakdown would be useful.

Season 1 could also be revealed before launch, though this is less certain than some of the other expected announcements.

Based on the Battle Pass countdown timer currently seen in Black Ops 7 and Warzone, Season 1 appears to be scheduled for the first week of November, around November 5. If that timing holds, it would make for a particularly quick turnaround between launch and the first post-launch season. Because Modern Warfare 4 is arriving earlier than usual to get ahead of GTA 6, Call of Duty could start talking about Season 1 before launch instead of waiting for the usual post-release window.

That could mean getting early details about planned Season 1 content, including maps, modes,s and possibly new weapons. Those details could arrive before October 23, followed by the complete Season 1 roadmap around a week after launch.

The timing makes this one less certain than the other expected reveals, but the unusually early launch gives Call of Duty a reason to change its usual marketing schedule, potentially.

There are also some more familiar pre-launch announcements still expected. A proper launch trailer is one of them. We've already seen an early multiplayer trailer, a general Modern Warfare 4 trailer, and the campaign trailer shown during the Tokyo Game Show. Still, a dedicated launch trailer hasn't arrived.

That trailer should bring together gameplay from the game's different modes and could also include a few new looks at content not yet shown in detail. A PC trailer is another standard part of the Call of Duty launch cycle, although that has already arrived separately.

The DMZ reveal could also come with its own trailer.

It could follow the usual Call of Duty approach with quick gameplay cuts, explosions, and cinematic moments, or focus more heavily on explaining the mode's gameplay systems. Either way, the full reveal should provide several new clips and give you a much better idea of what to expect from DMZ at launch.

With only a short amount of time remaining before October 23, Modern Warfare 4 still has a surprisingly long list of information to get through. The launch patch notes, DMZ, camos, progression, possible Season 1 details, and remaining trailers all represent major pieces of the pre-launch rollout.

Infinity Ward and Call of Duty may also have additional announcements that haven't been discussed yet. For now, the next few days should make the final picture of Modern Warfare 4 much clearer as the launch approaches.
