RuneScape Dragonwilds Guide | How to Unlock Tier 5 Tools to Get Steel Pickaxe and Steel Logging Axe

In RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Fellhollow progression depends on the Steel Pickaxe and Steel Logging Ax, two Power Level 5 weapons. Before gathering the supplies required for these upgrades, you should already have the Iron Pickaxe and Iron Logging Ax.

Gather Coal and Draconic Leather

Explore Fellhollow and mine Coal whenever you find it. Obtaining Coal unlocks the Blast Furnace. Also hunt Dragonwolves for Dragonwolf Hide, which you can process into Draconic Leather at a Tannery.

Make Steel Bars

Build a Blast Furnace after obtaining Coal. A Steel Bar can be made with 3 Iron Ore and 3 Coal, while an alternative recipe uses 1 Iron Bar and 3 Coal. The Blast Furnace must also be supplied with Fuel Pellets.

Gather Willow Logs and Fine Thread

Find Willow Trees around Fellhollow, including groves near Bleak Fields Valley, and cut them with an Iron Logging Axe or better. For Fine Thread, gather Corpse Cotton and process four pieces at a Spinning Wheel.

Craft Both Steel Tools

Craft the Steel Logging Ax at a Blacksmith's Bench with Eight Steel Bars, Six Willow Logs, and Four Fine Threads. You will need eight steel bars, six willow logs, and four draconic leather to make a steel pickaxe.

Once you have collected Steel Bars, Willow Logs, Fine Thread, and Draconic Leather, you can create both Power Level 5 steel tools.
