It looks like the massive popularity of Battlefield 1 Activision has stated, in their 2016 financial conference call for calendar year 2016, that it will be returning to traditional combat.
Sledgehammer Games, the studio behind 2014's Call of Duty: Advance Warfare, will be developing this Call of Duty and stated despite Infinite Warfare's "high quality" it "just didn't resonate" with a portion of the audience.
When Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare debuted in 2016 the game was hit with massive criticism, becoming one of the most disliked videos on YouTube. Infinite Warfare went on to sell 1.5 million copies in the first week but overall sales were down 50% compared to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
What do you think, should Call of Duty return to its roots? Let us know in the comments below!
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
