New Sonic Game in Development, Will Release in 2017

Recently SEGA revealed a brand new 2D Sonic game called Sonic Mania, however this is different from the other Sonic game SEGA confirmed to be in development.

During the Sonic 25th anniversary party at San Diego Comic-Con SEGA confirmed that the 2017 Sonic game will release on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo NX in holiday 2017. Currently listed at Project Sonic the game is in development by the team that made Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations.

The trailer shows Sonic and retro-Sonic joining forces against with the title "Join the Resistance".

Sonic next game will be Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice for the 3DS, coming this September.
