If you thought E3 was big, you should see Gamescom 2025. It looks like it will be the best place for superhero fans to be. With a record-breaking 1,500 companies crammed into Cologne's huge exhibition center and an 11% rise in the number of game studios taking part, the stage is set for a week of world premieres, gameplay announcements, and the kind of hype that only the gaming industry can provide.
Big names in the industry will show off games like Resident Evil 9, Ninja Gaiden 4, and World of Warcraft, but the real attention is on the superhero lineup, which is slowly gaining steam behind the scenes. AdHoc Studios is in charge of Dispatch. Their original story-driven superhero comedy Dispatch has already gotten a lot of attention. The game puts players in the role of Robert, a superhero whose mech suit breaks and who has to work at a dispatch center as a desk clerk.

Voice actors Laura Bailey and Aaron Paul do the voices of Robert. Fans of stories told in the style of Telltale will love the choice-based gameplay and graphics that remind them of Season 1 of Invincible. This year, the game should come out on Steam, and Gamescom could finally set the exact date.
Comic book fans also have a lot to be happy about. Arkane, the company that made Prey and Dishonored, is working on Marvel's Blade, a third-person action game for one person that will come out in November 2027. Even though the industry has been going through some rough patches, Arkane has stayed on track.
Gamescom may give us our first look at gameplay to get us even more excited. EA's Marvel's Iron Man, on the other hand, is still a secret. Fans have had to wait because of support for Battlefield, but the promise of a single-player open-world RPG built in Unreal Engine 5 makes it clear that Tony Stark's return will be worth the wait.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra from Skydance Interactive is also in the mix. The story-driven game will let players experience World War II from the points of view of Captain America, Azzuri, and a group of elite friends. The release date was recently changed to early 2026. The story trailer driven by Unreal Engine 5 has already impressed, but playing the game is still the best way to see how good it is. Lastly, Warner Bros. is getting ready to show off its character skills through Lego.
Fans are excited about the possibility of Lego Batman or Harry Potter sequels now that the company is focusing on DC, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and Mortal Kombat. The upcoming Batman project from Rocksteady and the rumored Injustice 3 from NetherRealm both point to a new wave of interest in DC games, which presents the Lego section with a great chance to cash in.
It's not just another trade show; Gamescom 2025 is where superhero games will be played for the next ten years. This year, big studios are ready to show, tease, and get people excited about what fans can expect from superheroes, capes, and stories that drive the heroes. Hold on tight, because the superhero rush is about to begin.
