Windows Store and Steam Users Cannot Play Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare or Call of Duty 4: Remastered Together
Two steps backwards

Those hoping to play with friends who purchased Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare between Steam and Windows Store are out of luck. Users can only players with users on the same service, this goes for Call of Duty 4: Remastered as well.
Activision stated on the official FAQ today:
“You can only play these titles with other users of Windows 10 on Windows Store.”
There's no cross-platform play between Windows 10 and Xbox One players as well.
“We support cross-play between devices and platforms for partners who want to enable it.”
Guess Activision wished to keep PC players separate from consoles.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
