Yoshinori Ono Joins Delightworks
The former Capcom producer will serve as COO.

Delightworks has announced that Capcom veteran Yoshinori Ono is joining the company as the new President and COO. Ono is a long timer veteran, having worked as an assistant producer on the Onimusha series before helming the Street Fighter franchise starting with Street Fighter IV. Delightworks has mostly come to predominance via the highly profitable gacha game Fate/Grand Order, licensed from Type-Moon’s Fate/Stay Night visual novel series. The studio is also further working with Type-Moon on Melty Blood: Type Lumia. Delightworks Founder Akihito Shoji will switch roles to CEO and Chairman.
Ono’s track record has not been without controversy, namely by the fighting game communities in Japan and North America. Critics have cited that Ono’s leadership resulted in poor working conditions at Capcom. As a producer, decisions by Ono led to stifling gameplay decisions on highly anticipated games like Street Fighter x Tekken and Street Fighter V. Hopefully this does not repeat at Delightworks, who recently had issues with their Sega backed gacha Sakura Revolution.
