Finding important resources quickly makes progression much easier in ARK: Survival Ascended – Lost Colony. The Northwest Tundra and South Tundra are useful starting regions, with nearby deposits of Metal, Crystal, Silica Pearls, and other materials. Farther into the map, you can also find Oil, Organic Polymer, Obsidian, Sulfur, Bio Toxin, Rare Flower, Black Pearls, and Sap.

Find Metal and Crystal Near the Starting Areas

For Metal near the Northwest Tundra, check around 3.8, 14.7 and 3.4, 5.7. Both locations have Metal nodes along the mountainsides. If you start in the South Tundra, search around 96.7, 4.6 and along the nearby river edges for scattered deposits.

For Crystal, the southern region has good deposits around 96.1, 9.3. In the northwest, head toward 3.6 and 5.5, where pink Crystal deposits appear on the same mountain that contains Metal.

Find Silica Pearls and Oil

Silica Pearls are common around Lost Colony’s rivers. Southern locations include 95.4, 5.3 and 94.9, 2.3. In the north, check beneath the waterfall around 11.5, 8.3. Another useful central location is 67.1, 64.2, where Silica Pearls appear in the water near three statues.

For Oil, travel toward the large central cave with an entrance near 68.1, 47.6. Inside, search the water and surrounding cave floor for dark Oil nodes.

Find Organic Polymer, Obsidian, and Sulfur

A useful Organic Polymer farming area can be found around 66.7, 61.4, where creatures in the nearby forest can provide the resource when harvested.

For Obsidian and Sulfur, check the unusual resource zones around 89.7, 4.3. Similar deposits are available around 97.2, 60.3 and 94.8, 87.8. The yellow rocks in these areas provide Sulfur and can also yield Sand.

Find Bio Toxin and Rare Flower

Bio Toxin can be harvested from the distinctive thorny plants found in several sulfur-rich areas. One useful location is around 94.8, 87.5, while another is near 89.9, 5.5. Northwest survivors can check around 11.4, 1.4, although the resource is less abundant there.

For Rare Flower, travel to the river around 29.7, 85.4. The plants grow along the riverbed. Approach this region from the north or south side rather than flying directly across the central city, as the city can force flying mounts to the ground.

Find Black Pearls and Sap

Black Pearls can be collected from the red river around 30.6, 84.4. Continue along the riverbed to find additional nodes. Another productive location is around 36.3, 67.2, although Leeches and other dangers make the central city route riskier.

For Sap, find suitable trees near 92.1, 96.0 or 95.2, 41.4 and fit a Tree Sap Tap to collect it gradually.
