Here's everything you need to know on how to find all collectibles in Dead Space Remake Chapter 1
Game Guide by Ornstein on Feb 25, 2025
In Dead Space Remake, players who wish to be completionists, as well as players who wish the secret ending, have the requirement of collecting all the log, upgrade, node, and marker fragments. To see the secret Marker Fragments ending, be sure you're playing New Game Plus. In this guide, the collectibles in Chapter 1 cover text logs, audio logs, guns, nodes, and other things required.
Text logs
The first log, Background Request, is after the acquisition of Isaac. Simply turn around and walk left to view.
The second log, Sponsored Article: The USG Ishimura, is in the vicinity of the first Necromorph attack. Look at the table to the left for the log, which is easily missed.
The third log, Repair Invoice, is in the area of maintenance and is close to a breaker. Be aware of Necromorphs in the area. The final log, Poker Invitation, is in the objectives area and contains the card required for restarting the trams.
Weapons and Modules
The first of these is the Plasma Cutter, which is impossible to overlook since advancement is necessary. It is found at the end of the elevator at the beginning of the chapter. Then, there is the necessary piece of gear, the Stasis Module, which is found shortly after the Plasma Cutter is found.
Audio Logs & Lacking Mission Logs
The first log, Send Help, is found shortly after the purchase of the Plasma Cutter. To access it, shoot or punch the lock at the far-right side of the door and continue toward the control center. A second log, Stasis Module Request, is found inside the trams' control area.
This chapter contains two missable log entries. The first is the Stasis Door when collecting the module without activating the module before the dialogue with Daniels.
The second is the Auto Loader, which is used when using the automatic loader controls but falling just before the second clamp, initiating a second call from Hammond or Daniels. NPC dialogue also counts toward log collection; skip them at your risk.
Nodes
Nodes are necessary for gun upgrades and suits. The first node is located in the tram's control center.
The second node is found in the Storage area of the Cargo Hall, accessed through the use of the circuit breaker before going through the next area.
The third node is in the maintenance bay area, in a room accessed through the circuit breaker. The final node is in Chapter 1, in the Supply Room, accessed when going back toward the elevator at the end of the job.
Marker Fragments (Game Plus Mode)
The first Marker Fragment is located in the same room as the Poker Invitation text log, on a shelf near the objective item. It may be covered from sight with things from the shelf. Remember that these fragments can be accessed only through New Game Plus and can be utilized for the alternate ending.
Level 2 Suit
The Level 2 Suit can be found at the shop you see at the starting point. It is 10,000 credits but doesn't require even a schematic, so it's a simple early upgrade.
