Dead Space Remake Guide | All Chapter 8 Collectibles Locations

Now that you've completed Dead Space Remake Chapter 7, you have security clearance level three. Before proceeding to the next area, head back to engineering at the same tram station where you left off in Chapter 7, The Mining Tram. Your destination is engineering, which is at the same station.

Backtrack to collect two old collectibles that were previously inaccessible. In fact, there are four total collectibles you can now retrieve.

Go to your side missions and activate the quest "Find Chief Engineer Rousseau's Rig". Make it your active quest by pressing R3 and follow it for about three to four minutes until you reach security level three deep in engineering.

Inside this room, you'll find the quest item for the second quest, "You Are Not Authorized", along with a log. Both are located here.

Log #1 Chief Engineer's Log 

This is the quest item, and the log is positioned right in front of a locker, slightly tucked around the corner.

Next, backtrack all the way up to another security clearance room containing a schematic for an oxygen tank. You couldn't access this room before because it requires security clearance level two. To save time, you're doing both in one trip instead of returning later.

To get back up, retrace your steps in the opposite direction. Take the lift, move to the other side, and take another lift.

Once you get down, follow the path through a broken door. Use your stasis when needed. Continue on this path until you reach a save point. A door is located just to the right of it—go through this door.

The control room is just ahead. Keep walking past it and head toward the back corner. The route may seem slightly confusing, but it's simpler than it looks. Eventually, you'll find a security-level two-door.

Inside, the schematic for the oxygen tank is directly in front of you on the left, while a node is located in the back right corner.

Once you've collected these four items from the two rooms, return to the train and continue your main story path.

Quest: Premeditated Malpractice

Your next objective leads back to the main atrium of the bridge. Instead of fast-traveling to the train, take note of the store in front of you.

As you enter the atrium, interact with the display. This action will generate a couple of holograms that will walk away. Be prepared to defend yourself as they move and talk. At the end of this sequence, you will receive a quest update.

Log #2 Comm Array Error

Follow the main objective line to the comms control room. Upon arrival, walk to the front where the red display is located—this will trigger an audio log. There is nothing to pick up; just walking up to it is enough.

Log #3 Mayday

Inside this room, you'll find Bailey's office, located next to the save point. There are two items inside—a log on the desk in front of you and a side quest item behind it.

This item is part of the "You Are Not Authorized" quest.

After finishing the comm array, you will finally be able to exit this room. Turn right and proceed straight ahead. Move the obstacles out of the way, and once you go through the next door, look at the left wall to find a node.

After this, ride a gondola to the other side.

Log #4 The Comms Relay Crew

Once off the gondola, you'll find a weapons bench and a log sitting on a bench to the right.

Walk past the weapons bench and look for the plasma cutter upgrade, "Weighted Blades." If you are focusing on a plasma cutter run, this is a valuable upgrade. The weapon upgrade is on the bench in the room ahead. There is also a store here if you need to stock up on ammo.

Before moving to the next collectible, it's highly recommended to return to the workbench and upgrade your plasma cutter. You'll need to do it eventually, so doing it now saves time. Leave the room and take the elevator down.

Find this collectible in the hallway on the left side—this will be the final collectible in Chapter 8.
