Destiny 2: The Final Shape: How to Access Excision

A brand new 12-player activity called Excision has been introduced in Destiny 2 following the first fireteam's completion of the new raid, Salvation's Edge. This guide will walk you through the necessary steps to gain access to this exciting new activity, ensuring you're well-prepared to dive into the chaos and fun it offers.

Excision is the latest addition to Destiny 2's array of challenging activities, offering a unique 12-player experience that promises both chaos and rewards. However, before you can jump into this new activity, there are a couple of core requirements you need to meet. This guide will detail these requirements and provide step-by-step instructions on how to unlock Excision.

Core Requirements

Complete The Final Shape Campaign

 

The first requirement to access Excision is to complete The Final Shape campaign. This can be done on either difficulty setting, so choose the one that best suits your playstyle and preferences. The campaign is an essential part of the storyline and completing it is your first step toward unlocking Excision.

Complete the Exotic Quest "Wild Card"

 

Once you have completed The Final Shape campaign, you will gain access to the Exotic Quest called Wild Card. Completing this quest is the second requirement. The Wild Card quest is challenging but rewarding, and it's necessary to progress toward unlocking the Excision activity.

Unlocking Excision

After meeting the above requirements, you are ready to find and launch Excision. First, open your destination map in Destiny 2 and navigate to the Pale Heart area. Next, scroll all the way to the right, next to the new raid, Salvation's Edge. You should see Excision, the new 12-player activity, listed here. If you do not see Excision, this indicates that you have not yet met the two core requirements. Ensure you have completed both The Final Shape campaign and the Exotic Quest Wild Card before trying again.

Once you have located Excision on the map and confirmed that you meet the requirements, simply select and launch the activity. Prepare yourself and your fireteam for an intense and chaotic experience. The first time you complete Excision, you are guaranteed an exotic reward, making the effort well worth it.
