Akai Chainbound is a late-game Great Sword obtained in Red Ashe’s Swamp after defeating both phases of Akai Tsuki. Unlike the Ancient Greatsword, there is no hidden exploration route to solve first. The requirement is winning the full boss encounter and then collecting the weapon reward afterward.

Reach Akai Tsuki in Red Ashe’s Swamp
Progress through Red Ashe’s Swamp until you reach the route leading to Akai Tsuki, The Blood Moon. The approach comes after the later swamp encounters and leads through the river arch into the boss sequence.
Do not treat the first health bar as the entire encounter. Akai Tsuki has a second phase, so preserve enough healing and combat resources to survive what follows.
Defeat Both Akai Tsuki Phases
The first encounter is Akai Tsuki, The Blood Moon. Akai fights aggressively with repeated swings and rushes, so avoid forcing long combos while the boss is applying pressure. Wait for the attack sequence to finish and punish the recovery.
The battle then continues against Akai Tsuki, True Form. This form uses two katanas, much faster slash sequences, overhead attacks, and ranged fireballs. Keep moving during ranged pressure and attack once the sword sequence has ended instead of trading hits during it.
Collect Akai Chainbound From the Water
After defeating both phases, do not leave the area without collecting the sword. Akai Chainbound is available in the water after the World Boss encounter.

Akai Chainbound gives its Final Heavy Combo a dark energy slash. Its charged attack also gains increased damage, making the sword useful for an aggressive Heavy Attack-focused setup.
Defeat Akai Tsuki, The Blood Moon, and Akai Tsuki, True Form, then collect Akai Chainbound from the water after the fight.
