Dynasty Warrior: Origins Guide | How To Find Gold Coins And Use Them

In your journey traversing the world map or overview in Dynasty Warrior: Origins, you will occasionally stumble across places where old coins are often found scattered around. These coins are distributed randomly, and if you do not know their use, it means you most probably have not advanced far in the primary story. 

After finishing the third main mission, Chapter 2 will lead you back to the City of Ji, the first significant city in the game. Here, you are going to meet with someone who has a shop outside the city, which is known to him for his retreat.

At this retreat, you can trade your old coins for various rewards. The rewards increase based on how many coins you have. For example, there are different prizes for having 5, 10, 20 coins, and so on.

How to Find Gold Coins

Randomly on the Map: You can find coins scattered on the world map. These coins seem to regenerate after you complete a nearby skirmish. For instance, after a battle, a new coin might appear in the same area.

Doing Side Quests and Skirmishes: Completing side quests and battles often leads to finding coins.

Talking to Officers: Interacting with officers sometimes leads to rewards. They might ask you to complete a quick skirmish, or there may be a handshake icon that starts a cutscene. Strengthening your bond with these officers can also earn you coins.

Increasing the Peace Meter: Each region has a peace meter visible near the map in the bottom right corner. Completing skirmishes, officer requests, and main missions will raise this meter. Reaching certain levels on the peace meter will cause Waypoints in the area to glow. Clicking on these Waypoints will reward you with more coins.

From Letters: While completing missions, especially the main ones, you may receive letters. These can be opened in tents or cities, and they sometimes contain coins, along with other rewards like weapon upgrades or ability boosts.

What Are Coins Used For?

Old coins are mainly used at the retreat near the City of Ji. Here, you trade them for various rewards. Collecting these coins isn’t something you need to actively focus on; they are more like bonuses for completing optional content and exploring the game rather than rushing through the main missions.
