The secret ending in Mina the Hollower is not unlocked by finding one hidden room or beating an optional boss. It depends on reaching Baron Lionel’s dinner scene with no wrongs for the guests to accuse Mina of committing. The run is usually called a Blameless Mina or Sinless Mina route, and it demands restraint from the opening ship crash to the final dinner.

The core rule is simple: avoid anything Lionel can use against Mina, while still completing the few required good deeds that prove she did not abandon people who needed help.

Required Good Actions

After the opening crash, talk to Cappy until you can bring him along instead of leaving him behind. Later, rescue all three children during the Carving Man sequences in Septemburg. You also need to give Bones to every beggar who asks for help, including the beggars in Ossex and the Shifted Sands.

The route also requires a few odd checks. Sell at least one item at the Pawn Shop, start the orphanage ribbon-cutting scene, then skip it immediately. Heal Frayd after the fight, and activate the generators in Septemburg and Nox’s Bayou.

Actions to Avoid

Do not break candles or street lamps, even by accident during combat. Avoid damaging the island or taking things that are not yours. That means leaving the boy’s bike alone in Ossex, not taking Pinky Gorilla’s ladder, and not digging up the Groundskeeper’s grave in the Crypt.

Skip most side content. Do not go fishing, do not use the telescope, do not finish Poppit’s quest, and do not repair the Hollower’s Guild. Ride the train to Coltrane Peak exactly once. A second train ride can count against Mina during the dinner accusation sequence.

Bosses and Side Encounters

The Blameless Mina route also asks you to leave several optional conflicts alone. Do not fight optional bosses such as Mock Moon, Midden, Dugin, Maxi, or Mirren at Coltrane Peak. Avoid actions that harm or inconvenience NPCs, including interrupting the children playing kick the can in Ossex, helping the tomato farmer, filling the frog’s mug in Nox’s Bayou, or releasing the hanging crows in Septemburg.
