Monster Hunter Wilds is Capcom's return to the Monster Hunter franchise, where every hunt tests your skills, patience, and creativity. Built on the foundations of its predecessors, it's a memorable title that has enticed gamers with its relentless and intense quests and challenges.
The pop-up camp system in Monster Hunter Wilds allows you to set up temporary camps in various locations across each map. The camps can act as fast travel points, rest areas, and strategic bases during hunts.
But the number of active camps is limited so it's important that you choose the right location. This guide will give you a detailed overview of the best camp locations on each map.
Windward Plains
The Windward Plains offers you with 13 camp locations, it's the most of any map; the key locations are:
- Area 6: It's a hidden camp on the left side of the map that gives you quick access to Zone 6, 2, and 11.
- Area 9: it's located on the upper right quadrant and this camp is pretty good for covering the top right side of the map.
- Area 13 (Oasis): This area is visually breathtaking but it is targeted by monsters the underground camp beneath it is a safer alternative that you can use.
- Area 16 (South): It's a tucked away corner and it allows you easy access to Zones 16 and 17.
For decent coverage, I would suggest setting up camps in Areas 6, 9, 13, and 16. You can choose the fifth camp based on what you prefer as the base of the map and Kunafa Village already gives you decent central coverage.
Scarlet Forest
The Scarlet Forest has 12 camp locations, these spots are:
- Area 7 (Bottom of the big tree): It's a dangerous but highly useful camp for fast travel for the bottom right-hand section of the map.
- Area 8 (Underground Lake): It's a safe camp that will give you easy access to the right corner of the map.
- Area 14 (Upper tree section): It's marked as dangerous, but it's rarely destroyed so this camp is pretty well placed for fast travel.
- Area 18 (West): It offers you good coverage for the middle left side of the map which allows you to easily access Zone 10.
I would recommend setting up in Areas 7, 8, 14, and 18 (West). You can choose the fifth camp based on your specific needs such as the Great Lake shore camp for fighting Uth Duna.
Oilwell Basin
The Oilwell basin has eight camp locations in total, I'd recommend setting up in:
- Area 1 (Canyon Divide): It's a safe camp on the left side of the map that is useful for accessing the lower left quadrant.
- Middle Strata (North and South): This camp covers the middle section of the map and is really useful for fast travel.
- Area 13 (Limestone Cave): It's a safe camp that is tucked away in a corner that gives you easy access to the middle strata.
- Area 15 (Lower Strata North): This area covers the right side of the map and is a solid choice for fast travel.
The fifth can be chosen based on your personal preference.
Iceshard Cliffs
The Iceshard Cliffs has seven camp locations, the hotspots are:
- Area 1: This is the default campus handy as it is in a central location.
- Area 7 (Watchtower): It's a visually stunning cam that has a great view but requires a bit of climbing to reach.
- Area 15: It's at the top right side of the map and it gives you easy access to vertical layers.
- Area 20: This area gives you quick access to the lower right side of the map and vertical traversal.
The fifth camp can be chosen based on your specific wants and needs.
Wyveria
Wyveria has six camp locations with a limit of four active ones, I would recommend:
- Area 6: This camp covers the middle to lower sections of the map.
- Area 9: This camp you withprovides good coverage for the right side of the map, including the vertical layers.
- Area 13: It is the only camp on the bottom layer; It's useful for traversing vertical layers.
Tent Customization
You're not only limited to choosing camp locations, but you're also able to fully customize how your tent looks. This includes selecting various patterns, colors, and outdoor items such as chairs which even have their own unique sitting animation. This added feature adds a personal touch to the game's hunting experience.
Choosing the right pop-up camp location in monster hunter wilds is important for efficient hunting and the ease of fast travel. By setting up these camps in proper strategic areas across each map make sure that you have quick and easy access whilst also being safe.
