Your journey through Edo Castle begins with a need for the right gear. Start by picking up some weapons or changing what you currently have equipped.

You should specifically look for the Training Swords before you move forward. Once you are ready, head downstairs and go through the door. You need to stay alert because Yokai have taken over the castle grounds.

Defending the Path

You will have to fight off groups of Yokai as you move through the area. To keep from getting scared, you should stay cool and watch how they move.

Try to deal with them one at a time. Using a Spear is a good choice here because of its reach. Eventually, a larger enemy will appear.

Remember to be careful during this fight and use your strength to get the win. You will see a strong sword after the battle in Nioh 3.

Meeting Yagyu and Finding Safety

Go talk to Yagyu after the fight. He'll talk about those fights and his father, Sekishusai.

Follow the road until you reach Lord Takechiyo, then keep going up the castle walls. Once you get to a new area, look for a Shrine. You can rest and pray here to keep your progress.

The Path of the Ninja

Further in, you will meet Hanzo and adopt a ninja style. He will ask you to find four different weapons from fallen men nearby. Test them out and pick the one you like best, such as the standard Sword.

Assure Hanzo of your choice once more. Then he will teach you how to distract enemies by moving quickly. Maintain your space and use your healing gear when you get hurt in Nioh 3.

Moving Underground

Once the enemies are cleared, speak to Hanzo again. He will lower a ladder for you. Climb up and follow him.

You will also have a cat companion join your group to help. You will finally find a well that goes down into the ground. You can get to the caves below by diving into it. This place is full of Spirit Stones, and you need to make sure they are never used to start a fight again.

The Final Encounter

At the end of the path, you will find Tokugawa. A fight will break out, and he deals a massive amount of damage. Do your best to hold your own, even if the odds feel stacked against you. Once this encounter ends, you will have successfully made it out of Edo Castle.
