To succeed in the Ceremony quest within Nioh 3 requires you to understand how to handle a specific duel. You will eventually come face-to-face with Kunimatsu. While the fight might feel simple to some, it still requires you to follow a specific strategy to win.

Watching the Ki Bar

The most important part of this fight is the Ki bar. You have one, and Kunimatsu has one too. You must stay aware of his meter at all times. 

When you see his Ki getting low, that is your moment to act. Make sure you are also looking at your own green bar so you do not run out of energy at a bad time in Nioh 3.

Breaking the Defense

Once his Ki is almost gone, you need to hit him through his guard. Do not let up. If you keep the pressure on, you can land a Special Attack. 

This move is what finally beats him. He might say he got careless, but it shows you have bested him in the Ceremony Nioh 3.
