Build a Diverse Demon Squad

This is the most critical strategy. Capture demons at every opportunity, as your life practically depends on it. You may only capture demons that are at or below your current level, so avoid attempting to capture a Level 12 demon when you're at Level 11.

Your squad must be well-rounded: include multiple elements, at least one Healer, several elemental Attackers, and at least one demon with Support Skills.

Use Demons as Fusion Fodder

Although it's easy to get attached to early demons like a helpful little Fire Gremlin, don't hesitate to fuse them. The fusion system allows skill inheritance, including passives, and occasionally adds stat bonuses.

Level up demons just enough to unlock their best abilities, max out their Loyalty, and then fuse them for stronger allies. This game isn't a petting zoo. Rather, it's a demon factory.

Max Out Loyalty Before Fusing

Loyalty in this game reflects demonic friendship like spiced with hellfire. As your demons fight beside you, their loyalty grows. Maxing it out unlocks their passive skills, increases Magnetite capacity, and grants extra Demon Tubes.

Fusing them before reaching max loyalty results in missing out on all of these benefits. Don't ghost a demon before you've shared a few battles.

Sell the Sake

You'll find plenty of Sake as you explore. While Sake boosts an individual demon's loyalty, it doesn't increase your overall loyalty pool, Magnetite capacity, or the number of demons you can carry. Instead of using it, sell it. It's highly valuable, and the money can be used to upgrade Gear or stock up on Healing Items without grinding.

Level Up Your Magic Stat

Every time Raidou levels up, you gain one stat point to allocate among Strength, Vitality, Luck, or Magic. Prioritize Magic.

While Strength affects sword attacks and Vitality boosts HP, Magic improves demon summoning efficiency, spell damage, and magnetite use. Powering up your demons is far more efficient than powering up yourself.

Understand the Magnetite System

Magnetite is the green energy that fuels your demon squad. It's used when they cast spells, but you can refill it easily by landing regular attacks. The higher your Magic stat, the lower your magnetite cost per spell. Treat magnetite like your phone battery, so keep it full, avoid wasting it, and replenish it through combat.

Know Your Demon Families

Each demon family has specific roles and strengths.

• Pyro Demons are glass cannon spellcasters weak to ice.
• Frost Demons are well-rounded with a balanced offense.
• Volt Demons specialize in lightning and possess the investigation skill Inspect.
• Wind Demons are force users with decent versatility but poor investigative skills.
• Fury Demons are brutal melee units with limited spells.
• Pagan Demons are psychic types, great at Mind Reading, making them especially useful.
• Skill Order Demons, focused on status effects and using the skill Demonstrate, are largely ineffective.

Build a team that includes at least one from each family for optimal flexibility.

Exploit Weaknesses and Swap Strategically

In combat, use the Select Button to analyze enemies. An exclamation mark means they're weak to that element, while a shield indicates immunity.

After identifying a weakness, use the Down Button to switch in the appropriate demon. Exploit enemy vulnerabilities to stun them and reap rewards like Experience, Gold, and satisfaction.

Watch the Moon Phases

The Moon Phase system affects gameplay more than expected. Some demons can only be captured during a Full Moon. Fusions may yield different results under the same phase.

Even Buffs from the Soda Shop expire at the next New Moon. Monitor the lunar calendar in the corner of the screen like it's your quirky but powerful party member.

Forge Weapons Like a Demon Blacksmith

You'll wield three weapon types: balanced Swords, fast-hitting Spears, and slow but powerful Axes. In Episode 3, you unlock Demon Forging, allowing you to fuse demons into weapons.
